AWS Launches Instant EBS Volume Clones for Simplified Data Copying
AWS has introduced Amazon EBS Volume Clones, allowing users to create instant point-in-time copies of EBS volumes within the same Availability Zone with a single API call or console click. This new feature simplifies the process of copying production data for development and testing, eliminating the need for multiple steps associated with EBS snapshots. The copied volumes are available within seconds and maintain performance during the initialization phase, which occurs in the background.
AWS Introduces EC2 Capacity Manager for Unified Capacity Monitoring and Optimization
Amazon has launched EC2 Capacity Manager, a centralized tool for monitoring and managing capacity usage across all AWS accounts and Regions. This service consolidates capacity data into a single dashboard, allowing users to analyze On-Demand Instances, Spot Instances, and Capacity Reservations without the need for custom automation or navigating multiple services. It provides insights into cost savings and usage patterns, streamlining capacity management workflows.
AWS Announces Lifecycle Changes for Select Services and Migration Support
AWS is implementing availability changes for select services, categorized into three lifecycle stages: services moving to maintenance (accessible to current customers until Nov 7, 2025), services entering sunset (with a typical 12-month timeline for migration), and services that have reached end of support as of October 7, 2025. Migration guides and support are available for affected customers.
AWS ALBs Introduce Native URL and Host Header Rewriting Features
AWS has announced the general availability of native URL and host header rewriting on Application Load Balancers (ALBs). This feature allows users to implement regex matches and modify request parameters directly within ALBs, eliminating the need for third-party proxies and custom application logic. It streamlines routing for microservices, particularly for Kubernetes users, and reduces maintenance overhead while improving performance and architecture efficiency.

Azure Introduces Direct Connect for Private Link Service in Limited Preview
Azure Private Link service now includes Private Link Service Direct Connect, allowing users to connect a private link service directly to any routable destination IP address. This feature enhances the security and accessibility of applications for customers. It is currently in limited public preview across several regions, including North Central US, East US 2, and Australia East, among others.
Azure Introduces Spot Placement Score for Enhanced Deployment Success
Azure has announced the general availability of the Spot Placement Score feature, which assesses the likelihood of successful deployment for Spot virtual machines. This feature provides a rating of High, Medium, or Low based on various parameters, helping users identify optimal combinations of regions and VM sizes to enhance deployment success and minimize capacity issues.
Azure Functions Enhances Reliability with Availability Zones and Key Vault Support
Azure Functions now supports availability zones for Flex Consumption apps, enhancing reliability and fault tolerance. This feature can be enabled during creation or post-deployment. Additionally, availability zones are available in the East US and Southeast Asia regions. Flex Consumption apps can also reference Key Vault and App Configuration settings, even when network restricted, provided outbound networking is configured correctly.
Azure AKS Confidential Containers Preview to End; Support Until 2026
The public preview of Confidential Containers on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) will be discontinued. Existing node pools using KataCcIsolation will remain operational until March 2, 2026, after which this functionality will no longer be supported, and new node pools with this runtime cannot be created. This change is part of Azure's effort to focus on production-ready solutions in confidential computing.

Google Cloud Introduces Gemini Code Assist for AI-Powered Code Reviews on GitHub Enterprise
Google Cloud has launched a public preview of Gemini Code Assist for GitHub Enterprise, enabling AI-powered code reviews to streamline the code review process across various environments, including GitHub Enterprise Cloud and on-premises servers. This solution allows platform admins to define organization-wide style guides and automate feedback, reducing bottlenecks in code deployment and freeing human reviewers to focus on more complex tasks.
BigQuery Data Clean Room Query Templates Enhance Secure Data Collaboration
Google Cloud has introduced BigQuery data clean room query templates in preview, enhancing secure data collaboration. These templates allow data clean room owners to create fixed, reusable queries that accept input parameters while preventing direct access to raw data. This feature simplifies user onboarding, strengthens data leakage prevention, and ensures analytical consistency, enabling customizable and controlled data sharing among partners.
