AWS Introduces EC2 Instance Attestation for Enhanced Software Trust Verification

AWS has launched EC2 instance attestation, enabling customers to cryptographically verify that only trusted software runs on their EC2 instances, including those with AI chips and GPUs. This feature utilizes Nitro Trusted Platform Module (NitroTPM) and Attestable Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to ensure compliance with specified configurations. It also integrates with AWS Key Management Service (KMS) for enhanced security. EC2 instance attestation is available in all AWS Commercial Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.

Amazon RDS Introduces Single-Step Cross-Region and Cross-Account Snapshot Copying

Amazon RDS now enables cross-Region and cross-account copying of RDS and Aurora snapshots in a single step, eliminating the need for an intermediate copy. This enhancement helps customers manage risks from incidents like ransomware attacks and region outages while improving recovery point objectives (RPO) and reducing costs. The feature is available across all RDS and Aurora engines in all AWS Regions, including AWS China and GovCloud (US) Regions.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Enhances Security and Automation with VPC Support and Resource Tagging

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore services, including Runtime, Browser, and Code Interpreter, now support Amazon VPC connectivity, AWS PrivateLink, AWS CloudFormation, and resource tagging. This allows developers to securely deploy AI agents, connect to private resources without internet exposure, automate resource provisioning, and manage costs effectively. The services are currently in preview in select AWS Regions.

AWS Enhances Service Control Policies with Full IAM Policy Language Support

AWS Organizations now supports full IAM policy language for service control policies (SCPs), allowing for more flexible policy creation. New features include the use of conditions, individual resource ARNs, and wildcards in Action and NotResource elements. This enhancement enables more precise permissions management while maintaining compatibility with existing SCPs. The feature is available in all AWS commercial and GovCloud (US) Regions.

Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager Introduces New Auto-Upgrade Channel for Minor Versions

Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager now offers a new auto-upgrade channel that allows users to set a target Kubernetes minor version. This feature ensures that clusters on the specified minor version receive only patch updates until the minor version reaches its end of support. It is compatible with AKS long-term support (LTS) clusters and is similar to the AKS cluster patch channel.

Google Cloud Launches Official Rust SDK for Seamless API Integration

Google Cloud has officially launched a Rust SDK, allowing developers to integrate Rust with over 140 Google Cloud APIs without relying on unofficial SDKs. This SDK includes built-in authentication support, comprehensive documentation, and examples tailored for Rust developers, enhancing the development experience for high-performance backend services and data processing tasks. The SDK is available on crates.io and GitHub.

Google Cloud Launches Enhanced XProf ML Profiler for Multi-Framework Support

Google Cloud has introduced XProf, an advanced ML profiler that merges features from its internal tool with an open-source version, now supporting multiple frameworks like JAX and PyTorch. Cloud Trace Enhances Support for OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) on GCP

Google Cloud's Cloud Trace now supports sending trace data using the OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) via telemetry.googleapis.com, allowing for vendor-agnostic telemetry pipelines and improved data integrity. This update enhances the trace explorer with OpenTelemetry conventions and significantly increases storage limits for trace data attributes, span details, and event counts, optimizing user experience and resource usage.

GKE Autopilot Enhancements: Dynamic Compute Platform Now Available for All Qualified Clusters

Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) has enhanced its Autopilot operational mode, introducing a fully dynamic container-optimized compute platform that allows for rapid horizontal and vertical scaling of workloads. This upgrade is now available for all qualified GKE clusters, enabling users to leverage Autopilot features without needing dedicated Autopilot clusters. Customers can easily specify compute classes and set Autopilot as the default for namespaces, improving resource efficiency and provisioning times.
